Norwell
Garden Club

Norwell Garden Club was founded in 1950 and became a member of The Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts, Inc. in 1957. The purpose of the club is to promote education of its members in horticulture, to contribute to the beautification of the community and to advance horticultural interests in the community.

Our monthly meetings combine a social time and an educational presentation, activity, or speaker. Past speaker and presentation topics have included: floral design, perennial propagation, seasonal container gardening, creating pollinator gardens, gardening in the shade, pruning, how to create earth-friendly gardens, making your own Hypertufa containers and cooking and gardening from an edible garden. We plan several field trips to gardens throughout Massachusetts each year.
Members help keep three town islands maintained and attractive throughout the year, including summer watering and weeding. Members are also asked to help host one meeting a year and volunteer on at least one of our many committees.
Annual Norwell Garden Club activities include our holiday luncheon, holiday greens sale & workshop, Arbor Day sapling distribution to all 3rd graders, regular community outreach to our Council on Aging, plant auction, and member garden tour and end of year luncheon.
Members of Norwell Garden Club range in age and knowledge of gardening and floral design which makes us a fun, interactive, and welcoming group.
