Garden Club
(Fitchburg)

Founded in 1965, the Laurelwood Garden Club

strives to beautify the city of Fitchburg and its surrounding areas. 2018,

marked our 20th anniversary partnering with the Fitchburg Art Museum

for our annual spring presentation of Art in Bloom.

Garden club members, local florists and the public

are invited to interpret artwork from the museum’s collection and current exhibitions with flowers. Every fall, club members plant one thousand daffodil bulbs in Fitchburg and the surrounding towns. In January we host a Scholarship Tea.

One year we brought in almost $2,000 and were able to award two high school seniors $1,000 scholarships. The scholarship is open to local high school students pursuing college degrees in environmental or horticultural related studies.

Throughout the calendar year we have multiple floral demonstrations,

craft workshops, all things gardening related,

plus presentations by club members and local experts.

In addition, we often attend programs at Tower Hill or take in a local flower show.

The Club meets on the second Friday of each month,

from September to June, 9:30 am to noon at the Fitchburg Art Museum.

All residents of North Central Massachusetts are welcome to attend.

The Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and a member of the National Garden Clubs

and the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts.
